I am not a pumpkin thief

I stopped in to the Country Side Market on 7 to take some dark, moody photos of the vast array of pumpkins, squash and little teenie gourds that they have amassed for Halloween. It was pre-dawn to say the least.
As I was taking photos a man in a pick up truck stopped to interrogate me. He wondered what I was up to, even said he that he thought he saw me taking something to my car. He was supicious of me to say the least, and I am sure took notes.

Fellow citizens, I am not a thief! But I did steal some photos of the huddled squashes.

Frozen with the Martian. The Excelsior Dock Theater

To achieve the full experience of the movie “The Martian” you have to have sympaticos. This is achieved by keeping the Dock Theater at about 55 degrees. So when the scenes with Matt Damon shuddering with near frost bite on the Martian surface took place we all exhaled and checked to see if we could see our breath vapors too.
The movie was very good, a bit predictable in my mind, but a winner in execution and of course “disco music”.  Susanne Summers in outer space is a stellar experience.

Capers on Water

We went to Capers on Water street to buy Halloween accouterments.  They have plenty, and Se threw togther elements for a costume for an upcoming party. The Capers’ cashier  handled the operation manually using breakaway duplicate forms and a calculator. Still efficient.

I find the level of activity in Excelsior to be uplifting. There is a sense of anticipation of the upcoming Holidays beginning with the faux holiday - Halloween., which falls on a Saturday this year.
