A tree is down in Minnetonka.....

A common scene throughout the metro area. The City of Minnetonka power was out all along my aternate drive along Minnetonka Boulevard this morning. This tree's roots gave way from the loose, soggy ground and barred the road.

My Crossing Points with the ALARC 5 and 10K

I crossed paths with the ALARC Legends 5 and 10K runs on Saturday morning. I saw the mileage sign postings on the trail while out for my morning walk, and I decided to check it out. The morning was almost perfect for running. Sunny yet cool. Starting at the Deephaven School Parking lot the runners flowed down a gentle curve on Cottagewood Road, then headed out and back along the trail. I took a few random shots of the leaders, and the finishers. I do not know the winning times, or runners. I was just standing at crossing point on the two runs.

The Gray's Bay Bridge expanse

The sun does shine. The morning light was brilliant. Even though I have taken shots of this bridge many times, I could not resist a full expanse photo. Blue and yellow, cobalt and saffron - take your choice.

The end of the rail

Along the Wayzata/Minnetonka railroad tracks as far as I can see there are staggerred stacks of railroad ties. Sometimes 7 or eight, even up to 10 dark blackish, cut and treated rails waiting to be laid.. The track glitters, the parallel rails point off to a distant vanishing point. Great for begining drawers. A path for wanderers. Burlington Northern Sante Fe rumbles by. Upon a little examination I see that the end of each hewn rail has a metal grid pounded into it. I checked, and I read that this is to keep the wooden rail end from splitting.
