Lake Minnetonka Triathalon at Mill Street

I must admit that the hill going up Mill Street out of downtown Excelsior is a rude awakening after the lake swim section. The hill is steep and long and the competitors would like to transition  a little more gently.
I did not watch the swim. Just too much jockeying around. So I position myself to view the competitors and an intermediate point when they were focused, deep into the event.
Here are the photos.

Meditation on a wet pair of pants. Minnehaha.

The transcendental quality is well earned when you walk through waist high morning grass. My soggy Sauconys will need ventilation, as I calculate up the Karma due.

Water Street remembered.

When parking was unlimited, then limited....

These photos are part of a new exhibition at the  Excelsior Historical Museum -by a local historian - Scott D McGuines, author of Excelsior's Waterfront.  He speaks on Minnetonka area history at various venues. It is an interesting display, stop in and see it.
