Clown Shoes. Water Street.

"Walk a mile in my shoes"

In the hierarchy of clowns, yellow shoes are the shoes of seasoned, veteran clowns. They have seen their share of pratfalls and hijinx. The are the foot soldiers of circus engagemens. Send them in, they can fill the bill, distract the audience if need be.

Porter /Dillman House

I picked up a little "walking tour" booklet from a literature box on Water Street this last summer. An  accordion folds of sorts. A Lake Minnetonka Historical Society product. Very nice, 2 color. In the summer it provides a nice, free guided tour.
This photo is one of many in the handout, which walks you through the town.

Note: This is one of the many little black and white photos included. I attempted to give the society a signed copy of Daisy Dillman's book "100 years In Ecelsior" but I found no takers.

Water Street at 5am

It is 4:50 am. I am standing on a desserted Water Street after a run on the nearby trail. Oh, a few cars pass by and look at me in my tights with my camera.

Such are the minutes after my morning run.

Across the great divide. Gray's Bay 101

Grays Bay at 6 below. I haven’t been there for years.... since it was closed off for eonstruction, which is on going. I could see the tracks of snowmobiles and ice fishermen dragging fishing shacks across the snow.
It is more open now, the wind blowing across barren stretch of roadway.

St. Alban, please sign in,

My first sunrise on St. Alban’s Bay. The temperature was about 14 degrees, but a stiff breeze made  it seem... well,  a lot colder. I took a photo at about 7:10am and then headed home. I was preparing for the “Commitment 5K” at the Chanhassen Lifetime fitness.  A  fun run that I struggled through, falling short of my goal time- but adequately. Again,  I plan ahead for a better result with the same preparation. 2016.
