Minnetonka Community Center for the Arts

I finished my evening life draw class on Tuesday.  It was an effort to bush up on my basic drawing skills....
This photo is the Center at dusk as I pulled up, perhaps not the most dramatic, but a welcome sign with the glowing lights.
The shows are always interesting, sometimes fascinating and definitely reassuring. Art is alive in the area. Now my drawing skills are a different story.

I have taken two session. There has been progress.

In the woods at Lake Ann.

I was joined by a few other camera slingers and off road bicyclists.  The steady flutter of leaves descending to ground level surrounded me.  Lake Ann is a pretty little lake tucked in among a group of lakes with the names of women I do not know.....

The Minnehaha Steamboat seasonal retirement.

37 degrees and a light frost was on the ground.
I ran along the trail Saturday at sunrise, about 7:30 am. The sun had not cleared the treeline to light the clay trail. I looked to my right and saw the Minnehaha sitting on a trailer ready to be stored for the winter. Winter. I took a mental note to come back after my run and take photos of the mustard yellow icon of the lake. Then I forgot all about it.

Later, I reviewed my notes. I returned today and waited semi-patiently for the sun to clear the trees and illuminate the ship. It is rare that I can get around and under the ship to examine it in good light. The sky was blue but windows seemed cloudy.

Oh, I have a book on the restoration for reference.

After the Ryder Cup

Gideons' Bay late Sunday evening.

A quiet scene after a tumulteous weekend in the wake of the Ryder Cup. One of the most successful events I have seen - my vantage point was the Tv screen,
The street of Excelsior teamed with festivities and happy people. The weather was magnificent. But, I felt the door of summer gently close.
