The sap is running in February
No, this time I am not speaking about myself. The maple trees are being tapped along Minnetonka Boulevard at an unusually early date. I do not know that much about it - I once wrote about it on this blog years ago. It is always a pleasant and welcome Spring event. Makes me want pancakes....
Looking toward the Lake from St. Albans Bay. I walked confidently around the frozen bay in a pair of treker-clad shoes. I could only find a few foot prints on the smooth crusty snow and glare ice. It was Sunday morning.
I put on my Trekkers and headed out onto the lake, confident in my stride. Glare ice was no impediment as I walked out with a brisk tailwind. The sun was not as helpful, skirting beneath a line of clouds. My photo were gray and drab, but the lake experience was refreshing.
