Wayzata: A Bit of A wait - Ice In

Borders and fences on cold Lake
The scene illustrates the current condition of Wayzata Bay, one of the key measuring points of LM Ice out. Judge for yourself. The next photo is my attempt at infusing color into the bland Minnetonkascenes landscape.

Hi Felix --
How do you determine Lake Minnetonka Ice Out?
I'm thinking it's going to be after Tax Day this year.
The ice has pulled away from the edges of Gray's Bay. When Gray's Bay is clear, maybe the big lake is three or four days behind it.
Meanwhile I'm seeing lots of new birds.

Robert.
I am merely a foot soldier in the L.Minnetonka ice-out watch. Traditionally ice is "Out" on the Lake when you can take a small boat and freely navigate from Wayzata Bay to Excelsior Bay. I guess this is my rule too. However I like to also throw in a few pithy comments along the way.
This year will truly be a late one - see my previous posts.
