The WPA left its mark

Here and there, at the Tonka Bay Narrows or St. Alban's Bay Bridge - or many other locations around Lake Minnetonka.

Scenes from the Lake Minnetonka Triathalon

At Leopolds, our boy: Roy Rogers.

I'm back in the saddle again
Out where a friend is a friend
Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lowly gypsum weed
Back in the saddle again

Ridin' the range once more
Totin' my old. 44
Where you sleep out every night
And the only law is right
Back in the saddle again

Whoopi-ty-aye-oh
Rockin' to and fro
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-yay
I go my way
Back in the saddle again

Art On the Lake- hot Saturday Special

We took the rear approach to Art on the Lake, passing the baseball diamond and food stands. Parking was tight, and as we squeezed by others on the sidewalk a chubby little boy stumbled in front of me spilling his cellophane bag of minidonuts. The temperature was in the high 80s.It was sunny.

One is naturally attracted to the architectural line of the bare wood skeletons,

and polished glow of The Urban Boat Builders Display. A Natural for “Most Lakeworthy” Award.

And I saw many artwork that I wanted to have in my collection!

Riding the trails, riding the rails

It takes a few curves and dips as it traverses Excelsior, but the Lake Minneotonka Regioanl Trail is a popular outdoor activity feature. The clay and gravel surface is perfect for walking, running and fat tire bike riding. It begins "way back in Hopkins" and passes through many cities and townships on is way to Victoria.
I have posted pictures of running races that have takin place on the trail.... may times.

Excelsior Art on the Lake... or near it to be more accurate.

Excelsior Commons.

June 11 and 12th. Art On the Lake. I am looking forward to my usual informal review of this event in search of the "Most lakeworthy" entry. Stop back to see what I found!

An accidental photo on the C0mmons.

I walked to the wooden decking that leads out to  a point on the Excelsior Commons. It was Sunday morning and the sun was rising full bore,  so taking a shot into the light was futile. I set the auto timer on 10 seconds and placed the camera on the wooden railing. As the beeping camera told me to get into position I struck a Napoleonic pose. Click.
When I checked I noted that the camera had rot

ated 110 degrees and took a photo much more to its own liking. It had edited me out of the photo completely,.
